Full day ride 320 km
On our ride South we shall see Hua Hin, a popular holiday resort first. Shortly after we shall leave the main road and tour through Khao Sam Roi Yod (mountain range with 300 peaks) national park. The wooded mountains make it a site of outstanding natural beauty, but it is the freshwater marsh and coastal habitats, that gives the park ecological significance. It offers fine sandy beaches, spectacular caves, superb mountain viewpoints, offshore islands, forest trails, boat excursions, and estuarine and mangrove habitats, all within a relatively small area. We shall take a boat trip around mangroves to see protected wildlife - there are around 300 species of birds recorded seen in the park. some of them very rare, monitor lizards and two legged fish. For our sea front lunch we shall stop at Prachuap Khiri Khan. Every place where we stop on this tour has good seafood restaurants, where only fresh fish is served. For those who prefer something else, Southern Thai curries are worth trying. Accommodation with breakfast in Chumpon.
Day 04: Chumpon - Ko Samui
Full day ride 285 km
In the morning we shall ride South on the highway No 4 over the hilly area to Surat Thani where we shall take a car ferry to Samui. The crossing takes 90 minutes. The island of Ko Samui lies off the east coast in the Gulf of Thailand, near the mainland commercial town of Surat Thani. Since the 1850s, Ko Samui has been visited by Chinese merchants sailing from Hainan Island in the South China Sea to trade coconuts and cotton, the island's two most profitable products. As Ko Samui's reputation as the "alternative Thai island" grew, so did the number of visitors landing on its shores. It is still in some places an idyllic tropical retreat with little traffic, clean warm water, fine sand beaches, and simple bungalows--but hotels, some of them quite luxurious, have sprung up like mushrooms, and some beaches see heavy tourist traffic. Our resort is on one of the popular beaches - Lamai beach. Experience night life on Samui or take an evening boat to Koh Phangan to join a full moon party (they are on every night not just at full moon). Accommodation with breakfast on Ko Samui.
Day 05: Ko Samui (day off / beach /sightseeing)
There is a lot to do Samui. Besides beaches, other island attractions include the Hin Lut and Na Muang waterfalls, the phallic rock formations at the southern end of Lamai Bay, a massive seated Buddha image on Fan isle, and Naton, the island's major seafront settlement with shops, restaurants, tour agencies and hotels. Accommodation with breakfast on Ko Samui.
Day 06: Ko Samui to Krabi
Full day ride 280 km
In the morning we shall take the ferry back to mainland and ride South to Nakhon Si Tammarat first (100 km). There we shall turn west through national parks where we shall enjoy winding roads and great sceneries all the way to Krabi town. For those unfamiliar with the area of Krabi, it's a lot like Halong Bay in Vietnam and Guilin in China - large karsts (limestone formations) sticking out of the sea. It is one of most attractive destinations in Southern Thailand. To the west, it borders on the Andaman Sea with countless natural attractions abound, including white sandy beaches, fascinating coral reefs, numerous large and small islands, and to the east on verdant forests with caves and waterfall. The area offers the best of the South. There is no need to visit overcrowded and noisy and rip off places like Phuket to see the best beaches. This place has lost its charm long time ago and its natural beauty can not compare to Krabi. Accommodation with breakfast in Krabi.
Day 07: Krabi
Day off, local ride or hydrofoil tour to Koh Phi Phi island
Krabi is a charming and fascinating destination with nusual rock formations and sea caves. We shall ride to one of the spots in the morning or alternatively you can visit the Phi Phi island immortalized in movie The Beach on a full day organised tour. there you can even snorkel at the same location as film cast - in Maya bay. Accommodation with breakfast in Krabi.
Day 08: Krabi to Khao Lak (full day ride 156 km)
We shall visit Tam Suea temple just outside Krabi in the morning. Beautiful forests with 600 years old trees and hermit caves. The main hall is built into long shallow limestone cave. Next to it are the stairs (1272) leading to the top of the cliff with Buddha footprint. You are free to take a walk up for a breathtaking panoramic view. In the afternoon a boat tour around numerous islands of Pang Nga Bay including the Scaramanga's hideout island from James Bond movie "The man with golden gun" and sea gipsy village. The area around is geologically referred to as a drowned land full of irregular limestone region with sinks, underground streams, and caves. Over 40 islands of this description rise some 300 meters or more out of the milky green grey water of the bay, creating one of the most photogenic scenes in the world. Accommodation with breakfast in Khao Lak.
Day 09: Khao Lak to Chumpon (full day ride 310 km)
Today we shall enjoy 300 km of scenic route along Andaman coast. At the end of Ranong bay Burma, is just a throw away. The last stretch will be over the mountains where we shall stop at waterfalls, hot springs in Ranong and at Burmese border at Kra Isthmus. Accommodation with breakfast in Chumpon.
Day 10: Chumpon to Petchaburi (full day ride 320 km)
This time we shall take different coastal route to get to our destination -Cha Am. Several fishermen villages will be along our way. Pleasant ride on winding roads. Lying some 5 kilometres south of the Prachuap Khiri Kan, is a beautiful curved bay that was once a battlefield between the Thai and Japanese armies during the Second World War. It is now under the care of the Royal Thai Air force. Part of the beach is lined with souvenir stalls. The remainder, and the greater part, is tranquil and largely untouched by commercialism. Accommodation with breakfast in Petchaburi.
Day 11: Petchaburi to Jomtien Beach (full day ride 305 km)
Departing Petchaburi, we shall ride in direction of Bangkok but first after the breakfast we shall take a Swiss style funicular to the top of the Khao Wang hill to take a walk around king Monghut's palace - a royal retreat from 19th century. To avoid the Bangkok centre's heavy traffic we shall take a ferry across Phraya river and ride along the shore of Eastern Seaboard. The afternoon brings us back to our base Jomtien Beach. Usually the group has the last farewell dinner this day. Accommodation with breakfast in Jomtien.
Day 12: Transfer from Jomtien Beach to Bangkok Airport.
Your motorcycle touring holiday is ending today. You will receive a DVD with photos and video clips of your escapades during the tour before our taxi picks you up. The time will be arranged depending on your flight departure. The ride from the hotel at Jomtien Beach to the airport takes about one hour. We recommend to book an evening/night flight, giving you an extra day at the end of your holiday.
